FAQs

Yes, we offer comprehensive hormonal, metabolic, and other longevity labwork. While symptoms (not lab hormone levels) are diagnostic of perimenopause, bloodwork can add valuable information as we discover root causes for your symptoms. You can run these labs through your insurance or use wholesale cash prices to affordably pay for lab work.

We explore your history and current symptoms and lifestyle extensively to discover how perimenopause may be affecting your current well-being. Part of working with us will involve a journey of self-awareness—exploring what you are truly experiencing and discovering how we can work together to optimize your health and well-being, enabling you to thrive. You will leave knowing about hormonal and nonhormonal options for perimenopause symptom treatment and with an assessment of your stage in the journey.

I work with women throughout all stages of life, except for prenatal care. I support women of all ages in addressing various health and wellness challenges, with a primary focus on preventative healthcare and optimizing their health and well-being. In addition to perimenopause and postmenopause, I treat conditions such as PCOS, PMDD, endometriosis, and other hormonal imbalances.

Typically between 4 and 10 years. You do not have to suffer. There are wonderful options to alleviate these symptoms. While hot flashes, mood lability and insomnia may improve after perimenopause the hormone deficiency remains. This state of low estrogen, progesterone and testosterone directly and significantly increases the risk of heart disease, osteoporosis and diabetes.

Depending on your symptoms and health history, together, we’ll consider hormonal and non-hormonal therapies, as well as nutrition, exercise, and other lifestyle modifications. My practice alligns with recommendations from the Menopause Society(TMS formerly NAMS) and The International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health (ISSWSH)

Upon scheduling your initial visit, you will be asked to complete a detailed health history and menopause questionnaire. As a certified menopause physician I will discuss with you the root causes for your symptoms, treatment options, and preventive measures. If applicable you may be offered lab tests or other diagnostics for you to do at a future time. We will discuss treatment options and your prescriptions will be sent to your desired pharmacy.

Your journey begins with an initial 90-minute visit, followed by a 30-minute follow-up appointment as needed to review any labs, to monitor progress, or to address any concerns. After your second appointment, we’ll continue to meet as needed until you feel like your best self—this could be around month 3 or may require more time. Once we’ve established your progress, I recommend visits every 3 months to make any necessary adjustments and renew prescriptions.

Yes! Please do not discount your ability to use hormone therapy for your menopausal symptoms after breast or ovarian cancer. You deserve time and education around the topic so you can make decisions with a menopause specialist and your oncologist that are best for you. I work closely with you and your oncologist to discuss the nuances of hormone therapy for cancer survivors.

We love that you are invested and have further questions.
